1. Nature of Job:

What is the job role of a real estate broker or manager and what do they do?

The role of real estate manager or agent is multifaceted and they do various duties such as selling, buying, and renting of the properties to the customers. They should have good knowledge about the market conditions and should be able to negotiate. Their main goal and aim is to meet the company?s goals and to satisfy the customer by providing the best deals to the customers. They should see that the customer is satisfied with the contract.

Some of the functions of real estate manager or agent are as follows

  • They interview the prospective clients and see that the sale is completed.
  • They help in the promotion of properties.
  • They help in the sale of properties.
  • They help in negotiating the sale.
  • They help in valuation of the property and if the property has appreciated, they tell the clients about it and explain that the property has the potential to appreciate still further.
  • They help in renting as well leasing the property on behalf of the clients.

2. Qualifications and Expertise Required:

Education / Training

The required educational qualifications and training needed to become a real estate broker and manager are as follows

  • They should complete the training programs on real estate being conducted by community college.
  • Some colleges and institutions offer associate degree in field of real estate.
  • Some complete the course and study subjects such law, finance, property management, real estate principles.
  • They should work for real estate agent who is licensed so that business intricacies are understood well.
  • After gaining experience concerned person should find out the details for applying for real estate agent license, apply for the same, and get the license.

Skills

Skills required for are as follows

  • They should have good communication skills because they need to talk to the clients, negotiate with the parties, and complete the sale.
  • They should have good knowledge about the market conditions.
  • They should have good organizational and planning skills.
  • They should have good convincing skills.
  • They should have negotiation skills.
  • They should be able to sell the properties when the prices are high and buy properties when the prices are low.
