Posting Job Description POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, Payroll Accounting will lead the Payroll Accounting process, including Payroll Reconciliations, and Treasury Processes. This position will have at least 3 direct reports at Analyst or Specialist level and will be responsible for all accounting, banking, and treasury transactions that are transitioned to the Service Center.

The Manager, Payroll Accounting will be an integral member of the Employee Service Center, with a focus on continuous improvement and creating an environment of commitment to client and customer satisfaction. This position will report directly to the Director of Payroll for Shared Services.

JOB RESPONSABILITIES:

? Process employee federal, state and local tax changes in the payroll system
? Perform Tax Auditing to ensure accurate tax withholdings during payroll processing, payroll year-end and quarter-end processes for wage and tax
? Assist with requests for information and follow up with Corporate Tax, internal/external audit and federal, state and local tax audits
? Partner with Third Party Tax Vendor to ensure timely and accurate tax filing and payments Support Year End Processing
? Work in orders to meet expected service levels and business performance goals by providing full range of customer service
? Mediate and resolve Tier 2 level issues with employees on payroll tax questions
? Categorize and fully document all cases in case management application, escalate client service issues and complex transactions to manager as necessary
? Provide input to HR Service Center knowledge base, participate in scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumen
? Serve as subject matter expert on all training matters/processes and policies for Associates and Specialists on the Payroll Tax team
? Serve as back-up to the Manager, Payroll tax on the day-to-day oversight and management of the Payroll Tax team
? Serve as working supervisor for the Payroll Tax team. Make recommendations to Manager on the performance/reviews of subordinates
? Develop, coordinate and supervise the daily activities of Payroll Accounting team in the HR Service Center
?Oversee the reconciliation of payroll liability accounts and partner with Divisional Finance Teams as required
? Oversee Payroll Funding processes, including 3rd party payment processing
? Resolve escalated Payroll Accounting inquiries requiring higher level knowledge and authority
? Partner with the Payroll Tax Manager to ensure that all adjustments to liabilities and that all variances in dally/quarterly/annual reconciliations are accurately reflected on financial statements
?Support client issues, concerns and inquiries through phone, mail, fax, and email to ensure that client requirements are met or exceeded
? Develop and maintain SOX key and secondary controls and procedures and accounting compliance procedures and controls
? Act as subject matter expert and process owner for specialized areas of Payroll Accounting
? Provide direction and guidance to ensure consistent achievement of service level agreements and business performance goals
? Monitor aged status of all cases and commitments/callbacks to ensure service level agreements are met
? Identify areas for process improvement and sponsor improvement activities
? Provide daily and monthly performance feedback and coaching to team members
? Mentor and provide leadership development to team members and lead and contribute to scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve performance and promote continuous learning
? Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects and daily planned and unplanned operational activities
? Understand, encourage, and comply with all human resource and corporate policies and procedures
? Such other duties as may be required by business needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

? 8+ years of experience in Payroll Finance and/or Accounting
? Service Center and/or HR operations experience
? Working knowledge of customer service software applications (i.e., case management) and Human Resource information Systems
? Reconciliation of complex transaction data

EDUCATION:

? Bachelors? Degree or equivalent experience required
? CPP or CPA preferred
