Video: Ford GAA tank engine spits fire. God Bless America.

The 1,100 cubic-inch, all-aluminum, DOHC Ford GAA V8 engine is what powered the M4A3 Sherman tank during World War II. As such, it was a critical part of the war machine that helped defeat the Nazis. By itself, the GAA is a big, beautiful lump of engine porn that sounds spectacular and spits flames from its ports. Evidently, this particular GAA was one of two crated examples found by its current Brazilian owner. Sitting idle for decades doesn't appear to have taken an ounce of fight out of it. The owner says he's going to add a pair of Garrett GT45 turbos to one of his GAAs and drop it in his '29 Ford Tudor. That's insane and fantastic, as is the shock-and-awe display captured in the video below.
